Frank Kocek was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1946.  He spent his childhood in Northern Illinois until he joined the military in 1966.  Frank served honorably in Vietnam, Germany, and across the United States.

After his Army service, Frank finished his education at Shippensburg University.  He pursued a short career in food service and owned a couple of restaurants.

Responding to the call to ministry, Pastor Frank went to Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary, eventually earning a Master's degree in Divinity from that institution.  He served for 35 years in the Fulton county area at a multi -point charge.  In 2026, he returned to participate in the Christ in the Valley Circuit.

He gives much credit to his late wife, Patty, for enhancing his ministry during their 37 years of marriage.
